Should Spurs Consider Waiving Julian Champagnie and Utilize entire Room Exception on Familiar Scorer Lonnie Walker IV?

SUCCESS

I’m hypothetically considering whether bringing Lonnie Walker IV back to San Antonio might be a great move. He started his NBA career with the Spurs and benefited greatly from Coach Pop’s guidance, which helped him become the player he is today. His scoring ability off the bench could be a real boost, and he has a strong connection with Spurs fans and the team’s culture.

However, I’m not entirely sure this is the best move, so I’m reaching out to real Spurs fans for their thoughts. Would Lonnie’s return be a positive addition to the team, or could it disrupt the development of younger players like Stephon, Wesley, and Branham?

The Spurs already have one of the top bench units in terms of scoring, and adding Lonnie could make it even stronger. With Keldon Johnson likely starting, a bench lineup featuring Chris Paul, Lonnie Walker, Harrison Barnes, and Zach Collins sounds solid. But I’m curious do you think this would be a good fit, or would it potentially hinder the growth of the younger guys?

Also, what are your thoughts on Julian Champagnie? Do you think he’s a valuable part of the team, or would waiving him be a mistake? I’d love to hear your opinions on how these hypothetical moves could impact the Spurs.
