Why the Spurs: Salary cap, draft picks, and losses this trade is a win, win, win. They unload their largest contracts and gain some potentially solid picks.

Why the Lakers: Desperation smells like rotten eggs, locker room, and gangreen and the Lakers are starting to stink. Lebron's bio-clock is ticking and this team has HOLES!!! First hole is the point guard position. I know Lowry is old, but seriously he's not a moron, he passes the ball, and Lebron needs the ball, and he's a good locker room guy. He's an upgrade. The wildcard is Robinson, the guy can shoot, he's not stupid old, but he's having a really down year. Do the Lakers pick him up in hopes he gains new life in a different time zone? Who knows, but when you're desperate even the ugly girl at the dance starts to look like the prom queen.

Why the Heat: Okay, it appears the Heat may have a case of the "next morning clarity syndrome". You know when the lights are low everyone looks a little better in the dark kind of thing...For whatever reason everyone's waking up to the same reality about the Heat, they just aren't that good. This saves them some money on long term contracts and returns them some quality role players, who are good locker room guys, who will add depth and scoring around their key pieces. The one hole this doesn't plug is their point...Maybe that next morning still isn't looking that good.
