Herbert Jones would be a great edition to the San Antonio Spurs to help Wemby with the defence they need. As Wemby is a great rim-protector, the Spurs need perimeter defence, and Herbert Jones might be the guy to call.

It would cost Keldon Johnson. Keldon Johnson was the 6-Man of the year, but in return for taking on a better overall fit for the second unit, we also get a decent second round pick from New Orleans. We have no need for Keldon Johnson as we now have either Tobias Harris, Carter Bryant, or Julian Champagnie coming off the bench for our backup forward.

The Pelicans may want to get a pick with swap rights, but if the Spurs might just remove the pick and do a player-for-player trade, it would still be a good fit.

As for San Antonio, Herbert Jones doesn’t need to hold the ball every offensive possession. As long as he could knock down a couple shots when they need it from him, it would be fine.

Only downside for the Spurs would be Herbert Jones’ injery history. In the past couple seasons Jones has been at risk of injeries for a while now. As long as he can stay healthy, it would be smooth sailing.
