THE SPURS HAVE A OVERWHELMING GUARD-HEAVY LINEUP ISSUE! De'Aaron Fox has returned from injury and has been as good as advertised. This is normally the best case scenario! The only problem is Stephon Castle and Ron Harper Jr's 1st year and 2nd year seemingly NBA Championship Contention Ready Play is ahead of schedule. Couple this along with Devon Vassell and Keldon Johnson's skillsets and all of a sudden its not Houston that has the problem its the Spurs with a log jam at the guard position. Which in the big picture is GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE! Luckily for the Spurs they are in great salary cap standing, they have attractive players and a treasure chest of draft capital to combine it all to make an offer to LITERALLY receive FREAK talent in return. GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO‼️
With this trade the Bucks receive an all-star level talent in D'Aaron Fox, a starting level forward on the last year of his contract to keep or create salary space this off-season in Harrison Barnes and a haul of FOUR future first-round picks including one from the coveted upcoming 2026 draft. After having Giannis for 13 years, winning a championship, many playoff disappointing seasons afterwards, big trades to get back to championship contention that have Failed, many injuries and rumors of trade requests. The writing is a last on the wall for the Bucks to trade their team's all-time leading franchise player Giannis Antetokounmpo. Fortunately this trade would set the Bucks up to rebuild well, into the future.
With this trade the Spurs relieve their lineup of the current duplicity at the guard position while gaining a force of nature player. Giannis provides the FORCE that the Spurs LACKED in the paint during the NBA In Season Cup Championship game. The Spurs largely lost because they shot and missed too many jump shots to win the game. Currently Wembyana is neither strong enough nor skilled enough in the paint as his team's Tim Duncan and David Robinson predecessors to carry the load and win a big game solely via the paint area. To the contrary, over his career Giannis has proven more than capable of succeeding in a big paint dominating role. In fact such role from Giannis would best compliment Wemby's outside shooting, midrange jumpshot and crafty big to big passing abilities. If Giannis and Wemby combined forces it would be a tandem like NEVER-SEEN-BEFORE‼️ Not even the aforementioned Tim Duncan and David Robinson pairing would be as complimentary.
When De'Aaron fox can be traded this addition by subtraction trade is the rare trade that actually benefits both clubs.
