TL;DR: Suns get longer, a solid backup 5, and solidify their 8 man rotation for the playoffs as Tyus, Book, Beal, KD, Nurk, O'Neale, Dunn, and Okongwu.
I loved Ryan Dunn when we drafted him. On year 1, at worst, I thought he would be Josh Okogie but taller and a better defender. Through the pre-season and his first 3 games, it's clear that he was better than advertised (all-rookie, calling it now) and has earned serious minutes off the bench. The only problem - so do Royce O'Neale and Grayson Allen, especially come the playoffs when our rotation will shrink to 8.
I'm higher on Nurk than most, but have serious doubts that a center rotation of Nurkic, Plumlee, and Oso is viable in the playoffs. Okongwu is everything that Nurkic isn't. Athletic, good hands, and an explosive rim-protector. He is undersized and struggles against big centers - but that is where Nurk is best (being a big-bodied 300lb guy and all), I really think the two would make a solid pairing.
I love Grayson, dude is a baller and had a great season with us. However, if there is one thing that can be said about the Suns, we do not lack in guard depth. We're small as is, so giving Grayson's minutes to Dunn gives us more defence, length, and if Dunn stays shooting the way he is, hopefully not a big drop off in that department. In terms of value, I think Grayson + 2 2nds is reasonable for Okongwu. If I'm delusional and this is an underpay, we also have our 2031 1st to trade.
Josh Okogie was given $8.2m purely to be traded at the deadline. I love the dude (see name) but he's gone. Fonteccio for Okogie and a 1st feels like reasonable value for both teams. With all of the restrictions the 2nd apron brings, this is the most realistic trade I can really see that makes sense (unless we trade Okogie for Landale or something as a backup 5, idk).
The Suns need to win now (which sucks because Boston look amazing). Tyus Jones will not be back next season, and we will not be able to get a PG anywhere near his calibre. We saw exactly what happened with the no PG experiment last year, we are not good enough without one.
Our lineup would be:
PG: Tyus - Morris - Gillespie
SG: Book - O'Neale - Lee
SF: Beal - Dunn - Oso
PF: KD - Fonteccio - Bol
C: Nurk - Okongwu - Plumlee
While OKC are great, this feels like a lineup that can compete to win the west.
