I keep seeing a lot of posts of Giannis to OKC. For OKC to stay under the 2nd Apron keeping SGA/Giannis/JDub/Chet it's not realistic; the following is what a Giannis trade would cost OKC. They'd have to not only attach 5 or so 1sts, but no matter the construction of that trade, OKC would have to dump the rest of IHart/Dort/Caruso/Joe/Wiggins/JWil and Kenrich or decline and sign him to a league minimum. That's to get down to a CAP of $221.1 while still drafting the 76ers/Rockets picks at #19/#23 (as currently projected). They would have to fill the roster with only 14 players and everyone else would need to be on league minimum or below (2nd round picks). They would then be $10m over the 2nd in 27/28 while losing Cason, $6m over the 2nd in 28/29 while losing Ajay/Topic, and finally $350k under the 2nd in 29/30 while losing Sorber and having to fill 10 roster spots at league minimum. Having 4 max players isn't possible in the NBA, at least not without paying several hundred million in luxury tax, something I don't see OKC doing.
