Since there are quite a few moving pieces and issues with the second apron, I will list out the order of trades so that none of the teams break the rules and the value is clear for each trade:

  • Already happened, but OKC sends Giddey to the Bulls for Caruso

  • New Orleans trades Ingram, a FRP, and a SRP to the Rockets for Eason, Brooks, and the #3 pick

  • New Orleans trades McCollum to the Bulls for Lavine and the #21 pick

  • Phoenix trades Nurkic to the Pels for Marshall, Liddell, and the #21 pick

  • Chicago trades McCollum to the Suns for Beal, a future SRP, and the #21 pick

  • Houston trades Adams to the Thunder for Waters and two SRPs

The Thunder acquire Adams to back up Chet and provide a big body. Hopefully, Adams is able to recover and then resign long-term with the Thunder as their veteran big man. I am not sure if two SRPs is enough for him considering he was injured all year.

The Bulls decide to go full tank-mode and take on Beal's contract instead of Lavine's, as Lavine is more valuable (although, still negative) and thus needs to be traded. Hopefully, they have their point guard of the future in Giddey though, who I am rooting for as a Thunder fan. He has a high ceiling if he is developed correctly.

The Suns decide to shift some stuff around, and are blessed by the Bulls taking Beal's contract off their shoulders. They replace him with a guy who is more comfortable playing point guard and is a much more efficient shooter. They also get some better depth and hopefully find a reliable contributor at #22 in the draft. I tried to fill out their roster with some realistic signings as well.

Suns Rotation:

PG: McCollum - Collier?

SG: Book - O'Neale

SF: Allen - Marshall

PF: Durant - Stevens

C: Bitadze - Eubanks

The Rockets decide to go after a star and start to push towards contention. Ingram could be that guy for them, although he comes at a steep price. I'm not sure if this is an overpay or not, but the Rockets could become desperate depending on Green's commitment.

Rockets Rotation:

PG: FVV - Melton

SG: Green - Whitmore

SF: Ingram - Thompson

PF: Jabari - Prince

C: Sengun - Landale

The Pels might need to move on from Ingram, and this would be an interesting option. It might set them back some chemistry-wise, but this would provide more spacing and depth. They don't have a true PG, but Lavine and Zion are good enough playmakers to make it work. They could also play around with some lineups including Alvarado and Daniels. I think they could also flip some combination of Lavine or Brooks and draft compensation elsewhere, like Atlanta, for a better fit, like Murray.

Next Possible Move: Brooks, Hawkins, and a FRP to the Hawks for DJ

Pels Rotation:

PG: Dejounte - Alvarado/#3

SG: Lavine - Murphy

SF: Herb - Daniels

PF: Zion - Eason

C: Nurkic - Nance
