This idea came from the Locked on Mavs Podcast where they named Cason Wallace as a player they would trade pick #9 for. With rumors swirling Cason Wallace is looking for or worth north of $25m a year, and SGA's behind the scenes request to keep Lu Dort, OKC trades Wallace for #9 due to not being willing to pay that much for him.
Knicks moving up to #17 from #24/#31 is one of the better trades for #17 I've seen around here that I think is a fair trade for both.
Nets are rumored to be interested in Aaron Wiggins and basically get him here for taking in Joe's contract as well. They also swap a worst 2029 of DAL/HOU/PHX for #24.
OKC gives up #17, Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins, and Isaiah Joe for #9, #31, and a 2029 1st. They draft Brayden Burries #9, Yaxel Lendeborg #12, Alex Karaban #31, and Otega Oweh #37 (two-way). They decline/re-sign IHart for 4/$100m, decline/re-sign Lu Dort for 4/$64m, and decline/re-sign Kenrich Williams for 2/min. This puts OKC at $221,858,889, just under the 2nd Apron.
