Lamelo is exciting, but comes with serious concerns. As a Wolves fan, I would've loved to see the trio of Ant, McDaniels, and Naz on the court more. Stats show that when those guys shared the floor with Gobert, they were top 5 offense and defense. They've spent their whole careers together, are young, and obviously talented.

I don't know if the Pelicans would've viewed Murray as a salary dump, but it would clear the way for Fears to take over the starting role. Murray would've provided excellent defense, a true point guard, and another creator (not Lamelo level). Plus, Wolves would still have some trade chips. Even if Wolves had to trade a little more for Murray, I think it would've been worth it.

If Wolves win a championship, then I'll eat my words. But this proposed lineup could easily be a championship team in a year or 2. Plus, it's more fun to watch guys who started at 0 grow and thrive together.
