Week 2 Recaps
Atlanta Vortex vs Memphis Blues
This matchup played exactly to form: chaotic pace, big swings, and highlights on both ends. Memphis leaned on Kai Summers’ control and On Fire’s vertical gravity, repeatedly spamming high pick-and-rolls that led to lobs, trail threes, or weakside dunks. Atlanta, meanwhile, turned the game into a Stephen Brickman showcase, letting him freelance in transition and operate as a chaos engine in the half court while Kyren Davis quietly orchestrated behind the scenes. Midway through the fourth, the Blues briefly seized momentum after On Fire detonated back-to-back dunks in traffic, giving Memphis a narrow lead and forcing an Atlanta timeout. Out of the break, Brickman’s “Chaos Vision” took over: he strung together a transition pull-up, a no-look assist to a cutting big, and a steal into a solo break that swung the scoreboard back. Summers kept the Blues within a single possession, but Brickman’s late drive-and-kick threes and Davis’ steady free throws closed the door. On Fire’s 24 and 10 kept Memphis dangerous, yet Atlanta’s guards dictated the final possessions.

Dallas Dragons vs Portland Timber
The first Aroony–Ball chapter opened like an All-Star dunk contest, with Sup Aroony and Duncan A. Ball trading early statement plays at the rim. Portland leaned on Ball’s passing to trigger inside-out offense, using his high-post touches to spring Dorian Price off curls and flares. Dallas countered by featuring their new addition, Dirk Garnett, in a steady diet of pick-and-pop and mid-range isolations, punishing defenders who sank too deep to help on Aroony’s cuts. The Dragons surged in the third quarter when Kael Donovan repeatedly used Ball’s drop coverage against him, hitting Dirk in his sweet spots and springing Aroony for lobs. But in the fourth, fatigue and Portland’s adjustments shifted the tide: the Timber began switching selectively, sending extra length at Aroony and forcing Dirk to create deep into the clock. In the final two minutes, Ball orchestrated from the elbow, hitting Price for a pull-up and then a corner three that turned a narrow deficit into a lead. A last-ditch Aroony drive was walled off by Ball’s length, and Dirk’s potential tying mid-range jumper rimmed out at the buzzer. Price’s 28 and Ball’s near triple-double narrowly topped Dirk’s finesse and Aroony’s fireworks.

Seattle Kraken vs Las Vegas Vipers
Seattle pushed the pace early, leaning on Derrick White's transition scoring while Dom Canzone II cleaned the glass against Las Vegas' smaller frontcourt. Corey Naylor answered with surgical pick-and-rolls, finding Jamal Rivers for mid-range daggers and drawing doubles that freed up Avery Kane for corner threes. The Vipers controlled the third behind Naylor's vision, but White shifted into takeover mode in the fourth—drilling two straight transition threes off Canzone outlet passes and clamping Rivers on a critical switch. With 45 seconds left and Vipers down three, Naylor drove for a crafty finish, but White stripped Caleb Foster at the rim on the next possession, igniting a fastbreak dunk that sealed it. White's two-way explosion (27 PTS) overshadowed Naylor's masterful 24-10 double-double in Seattle's bounce-back statement.
