The idea behind this team wasn’t simply to pick the 11 greatest players ever. Hansi Flick is the manager, so I also wanted to build a team that actually makes sense in his system: high intensity, pressing, movement, technical quality and players who complement each other.

At the same time, I wanted to mix in some personal favourites and more “exotic” picks instead of making the most obvious XI possible.

🧤 Neuer — the perfect goalkeeper for Flick’s high line and build-up.

➡️ Dani Alves — creativity, intensity and incredible chemistry with Messi.

🛡️ Van Dijk — the physical monster who gives the defence stability.

🛡️ Alaba — one of the more “exotic” choices. I wanted a left-footed CB who is extremely comfortable on the ball and fits Flick’s build-up perfectly.

⬅️ Marcelo — because sometimes you just need that Brazilian magic.

⚙️ Busquets — the balance and defensive intelligence.

⚙️ Xavi — controls the tempo and keeps the whole team ticking.

⚙️ Iniesta — progression, creativity and ridiculous ability in tight spaces.

➡️ Messi — obviously. And having Dani Alves behind him makes it even better.

🎯 Suárez — one of my personal picks. Perfect striker for combining with Messi and attacking the box.

⬅️ Neymar — another player I simply had to have.

🪑 12th man: Raphinha — probably the most “Flick” pick of the whole team. He brings insane intensity, pressing and work rate, and I wanted to keep one of the more unexpected choices as the first option off the bench.

This team is basically a mix of Flick’s system + players I love + players who complement each other + some less obvious/exotic choices.
