MY INTERNATIONAL BREAK TAKES

šŸŒ INTERNATIONAL BREAK — SOME OF MY FOOTBALL TAKES

Since there’s not much club football this week, let’s talk about some stuff I’ve been thinking about.

šŸ”µšŸ”“ BARƇA

Let’s start with my team.

I’m pretty sure a LB is gonna be one of our priorities.

Raum, Mitchell, Llorente and even Dimarco have been mentioned.

Personally?

I LOVE DIMARCO.

But the most realistic one for me is probably Raum.

And I’m a HUGE fan of him 😭

I think he’d fit our system really well.

We already have Balde, Cancelo and Xavi Espart who can play there, but adding another proper LB could give us more options.

You could even move KoundƩ back to CB and use someone else at RB.

Then there’s…

šŸ‡³šŸ‡± VAN DIJK.

Bro.

Apparently he has been offered to BarƧa.

For me, Van Dijk is one of the greatest CBs ever.

Yes, he’s 35.

Yes, that’s a massive risk.

But imagine Van Dijk next to CubarsĆ.

😭

The experience alone could be crazy for him.

And look at what Van Dijk did with Matip…

If he can make Matip look like an elite CB, imagine him playing next to CubarsĆ.

He’s won basically everything with Liverpool too.

Maybe he just wants one last big challenge.

If BarƧa can get him for free, I’m at least considering it.

šŸ‡§šŸ‡· RAPHINHA

And PLEASE let this be nothing serious.

10 games. 15 goals. 4 assists.

Raphinha has been ridiculous.

He now has a problem with his right leg and obviously I’m hoping it’s nothing serious.

Because October is gonna be HUGE for BarƧa.

And I keep seeing people call Raphinha a ā€œsystem playerā€.

Nah.

RAPHINHA IS THE SYSTEM.

He presses. He scores. He creates. He attacks space. He links up with Lamine.

Take him out and a massive part of our attack disappears.

That’s why this injury scare is worrying me.

Please be okay, Raphinha. šŸ™

šŸ”µ MAN CITY

Now the serious one.

If City are found guilty of breaking the rules, then yeah…

They should be punished.

Fine them. Deduct points. Whatever punishment the rules actually allow.

But I’m not completely convinced about taking away trophies they won on the pitch.

The money didn't score the goals.

The players still had to win the games.

And this brings me to something else.

I don't think City should be treated like they’re the ONLY club in football doing questionable things.

Look at the City → Tottenham situation with SĆ”vio and Marmoush.

There were reports that Spurs would effectively pay more for SƔvio while paying less for Marmoush, with the two deals being negotiated together.

The reason this became interesting was the reports around a possible sell-on clause connected to Marmoush.

If that was actually the reason for structuring the deals like that, then yeah…

I have questions.

But there’s an important detail: later reports said Frankfurt didn't actually have a sell-on clause on Marmoush.

So I’m NOT saying this proves City or Spurs did anything illegal.

It doesn’t.

But this is exactly why I want more transparency.

Because football is full of these complicated situations.

And my point isn't:

ā€œEveryone does it, so City shouldn't be punished.ā€

No.

If City broke the rules → punish them.

But then apply the same level of scrutiny to everyone.

Because sometimes football has me looking at a transfer and going:

BRO HOW IS THIS LEGAL 😭

šŸ”“ MAN UNITED

I know there are a LOT of United fans on this app 😭

So I gotta talk about them too.

Honestly?

I’m disappointed with their window.

I expected more.

For me they still needed a CB, a LB and probably another winger.

And I really wanted them to sell Rashford.

The midfield business was good, but there are still obvious holes in that squad.

BUT…

They’re back in the Champions League.

That’s massive.

And the season is LONG.

I think catching the very top will be difficult, but I can still see them fighting for a top-six/Champions League place if they start putting points together.

So I’m not writing them off.

⚪ TOTTENHAM

And finally…

Spurs.

I’m not saying this because of hate.

Okay, maybe a LITTLE bit 😭

But seriously.

They’ve finished 17th twice in a row and now they’re struggling again.

And after spending around £300M+ this summer?

Yeah, I have questions.

United at least have the excuse that they didn't have the window they needed.

Tottenham spent BIG.

So at this point, I really don't wanna hear excuses.

Obviously it’s still early.

Five games doesn't decide a season.

But if Spurs struggle AGAIN after spending that much…

Come on.

At some point you have to ask serious questions.

And personally?

I hope they go down this time because I would absolutely LOVE to see it

Anyway, that’s my international-break football yap.

Agree or disagree, I wanna hear it. šŸ‘€
