A bit late but the No. 3 seed Alex de Minaur lost to Cameron Norrie after an insane comeback in the Canadian Open today.
Norrie lost the first set 5-7 and was down 2-5 in the second set before pulling a win 7(7)-6(5) in a thrilling tiebreak. He won the third set 6-1.
My Picks for Tomorrow’s Matches(Men’s Singles)
with set results for fun
Griekspoor vs (30)Amaldi
Amaldi wins: 6-4, 6-3
Griekspoor could push it some more but Amaldi is just way better at this point.
Merida Aguilar vs Michelsen
Michelsen wins: 6-4, 5-7, 6-2
Michelsen can wear Merida Aguilar out over a long match
van de Zandschulp vs Hurkacz
van de Zandschulp wins: 7-5, 6-3
van de Zandschulp is just better on this surface.
(31)Bergs vs (5)Shelton
Shelton wins: 6-2, 6-3
Arguably the best American player in the world for a reason, Shelton’s on a completely different plane than Bergs.
Atmane vs (13)Menšík
Menšík wins: 6-1, 6-2
“Don’t overthink it” -Andrew Fenichel
(9)Ruud vs (32)Fonesca
Ruud wins: 6-4, 7-5
Fonesca is good but Ruud is on another level.
Popyrin vs Tirante
Popyrin wins: 7-5, 6-4
Popyrin is more consistent imo.
(12)Tien vs (17)Paul
Tien wins: 6-4, 7(8)-6(6)
I love me some Paul but Tien is just way too good on this surface.
I hadn’t posted anything tennis related in a while and the Canadian Open is one of my favorites on the tour.
