So it seems now that Fanspo has become a place of conflict and controversy. And this time it's not just 1. We have 2 running simultaneously which is just worse. This pulls away focus from what Fanspo is actually about, SPORTS! Not politics, not LGBTQ, not insults, not controversy, SPORTS! It literally says "The Social Network for SPORTS fans" Like fucking seriously. I joined Fanspo because it was a place where I could share my passion, my hobby, my ideas. All to do with SPORTS. I didn't join to colonize, I didn't join to insult people, I didn't join to talk about real world issues, I joined to talk about sports with other people who share the same interests as me. This site needs to come back to what's it meant for, SPORTS!. I know I have used that phrase many times, but I think it needs to be said. These users are focusing on what should have no place on this site, instead of what this site was built for. I don't think Zach built a website for people to insult each other and fight. I know this is a bit hypocritical, as if you read my comments I have thrown a few insults around. But I feel like we kinda have to, otherwise the other people who come to talk shit just win and overshadow us who want to use this website for it's actual purpose.
So to all of the antagonists (you know who you are), just leave. This website has no place for you if youa re just going to sit around and bully people all day long. People are literally leaving this website because of your actions. They signed up to have fun. To enjoy. To talk sports to other sports fans. Not to get bullied by a bunch of antagonistic dickheads who's only purpose is to ruin this site. I know, I know. I just insulted someone when I've yapped about being kind. But at this point, with what they've did to this site, and what they've done to human beings, I think a line needs to be drawn between antagonistic behavior, and saying what needs to be said. If people want to join and be rude and insult people who are just here to have a good time, they need to be ready for retaliation. As they say, don't dish it out if you cant take it.
And I know this phrase has become very controversial on this site, but make fanspo great again. We literally do, and I think everyone agrees. We need to bring back the times of posting trades, joining mocks, having friendly conversations, talking about sprots, what this site is actually meant for. I doibt anyone wants to log on to Fanspo and start arguing about politics and real life. When people log onto this website, they wanna talk sports. I think most of us want to. But those few people (who I will not mention), want to use this site for purposes that it is not meant for. People are being forced into controversy because they need to stand up for what's right, stand up for themselves, stand up for Fanspo! Controversy and conflict have become too regular on this site. Too regular that people are normalizing it. Conflict is no longer as big of a deal as it used to be. I'm not saying it is not a big deal anymore, but it happens to frequently that people use the word "more" and "conflict" in the same sentence. "More" should never be used. This is becoming too regular! In simple terms, stop fucking fighting!
I hope you digest what I've said and agree with what I've just said. I do understand that posting this is controversial itself, and mkight just cause more drama. But something needs to be said. We're letting these antagonists run wild like it's their own backyard. The topics they are speaking about should not be tolerated on this site, let alone spoken about. And now this leads me to the next topic, the whole NBA general mod scenario.
We need an NBA general mod. A, to stop bots and B, to stop antagonists from destroying this website. The person that has been talked about the most is Surge, which 1 100% agrees he deserves. And apparently we nearly got him in until the whole thread happened. Once again, I will not mention names. From what I've read, a moderator is abusing his powers and effectively holding this site in a state of destruction. This was caused by a comment a user left on a post left by a user called jmg (I think names are appropriate here). My personal view on this is the moderator should've never engaged with the user. I think it was useless conflict that snowballed up and the the whole website knows about it. The argument for standing up for yourself could be mad here but you aren't being personally attacked. I think these scenarios should just be left alone, especially if it is targeted at a broader group of people. I do realize this take is controversial, as you could argue "So LGBTQ people should just take being called dumb and stupid if it's toward the broader group?". But a real world problem is different to 2 people who don't and probably never will know each other irl arguing on a website.
So at the end of this long, and probably boring post, I send one message. Stop fighting. Can we just talk about sports? We need to rescue this site from the darkness of conflict and controversy, and bring it back to the light of sports and stability.
Yours truly,
Kako
