Every sports team’s best player ever

I’m posting this in Topshot because it’s 4 sports and 2 are zoneless

NBA

Celtics:Jayson Tatum

It could really go either way between him and Brown but I think the playoffs have shown us that it’s Tatum again, he’s just been better than Brown since he came back, even with a fake achilles

Knicks:Jalen Brunson

The only other person is KAT but he’s not electric and Brunson just operates on a different level, he’s not matched on the floor when he’s on top

76ers:Tyrese Maxey

It’s been Embiid for a while but it’s time for a change, Maxey took his superstar leap and is officially their new best player after his breakout

Raptors:Scottie Barnes

It’s either him or Ingram but Scottie has more impact on the defensive end and passes better, he’s more well rounded so he takes the cake

Nets:Michael Porter Jr

Do I even have to explain? They just suck, next!

Cavs:Donovan Mitchell

Mobley is the far second, Mitchell is averaging almost 30 a night in an offense with James Harden, that’s already enough for me

Bucks:Giannis Antetokounmpo

Well, who else is it, Myles Turner? This one might me more obvious than the Bucks

Pistons:Cade Cunningham

This one isn’t really close, especially with how Duren has been in the playoffs, maybe next year though

Bulls:Josh Giddey

They don’t really have any other relevant players, they’re like the Nets but better at being mid

Pacers:Pascal Siakam

It would be Haliburton but I don’t know how he will be after the achilles and shingles, he’s up 30 pounds and hasn’t played all year

Heat:Bam Adebayo

They have like 3 players in contention but I’ll go with Bam, he was the second best on both of their finals run and he dropped 83, Wilt, Bam, Kobe

Magic:Paolo Banchero

Paolo and Franz were close to start the year but with Franz being hurt and Paolo being a machine against the Pistons I think it’s settled for a while

desmond bane is coming, just you wait

Hawks:Jalen Johnson

I mean, who else could it be? they traded Trae who was the only other candidate, Jalen was playing like an MVP for a little bit

Hornets:Kon Kneuppel

It could go 3 ways but Lamelo is too inconsistent, Miller hasn’t proven anything to me, and Kon is still a rookie so he will be even better next year

Wizards:Anthony Davis

It was Sarr, and then it was Trae, and now it’s Anthony Davis, I swear it’s changed like 5 times this year alone, they had McCollum and Middleton battling it out at the start of the year

Thunder:Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Well, he’s the MVP, probably back to back, he won the finals, he might win again, in the past 3 years he went from a good player to a top 50 and maybe even top 25 player ever

Nuggets:Nikola Jokic

He’s averaging a 30 point triple double, what else can he do, he’s obviously the best player on his team, it’s the Jokic show in Denver

Timberwolves:Anthony Edwards

This division is pretty straightforward, there’s a great sidekick too but the best player is pretty obvious, he might be the best young player besides Wemby

Trail Blazers:Deni Avdija

Following the pattern of a straightforward choice, Deni is by far the best player on the Blazers right now, it’s not close at all

Jazz:Lauri Markkanen

There is an argument for Keyonte George but he isn’t as proven and Lauri has been good for longer and I don’t fully trust Keyonte yet

Spurs:Victor Wembanyama

Back onto the no question chain, let’s move on to the next one, I feel like if I chose someone else the world would explode or something

Rockets:Kevin Durant

This might be his last year, it could be Sengun next year, or even Amen, with KD getting old and those two reaching their primes it might change soon

Mavericks:Cooper Flagg

It could have been AD or Kyrie but Kyrie has been hurt and AD is gone, Flagg is their only hope, is he the new Great White Hope?

Grizzlies:Ja Morant

It doesn’t feel right but there’s no one else who can go there, Jaren is gone and so is Bane, it’s just Ja, I don’t like it, they need someone else

Pelicans:Trey Murphy III

It’s either him or Zion but Zion is always hurt, TM3 might be the worst best player in the league, no offense, there’s just not many others in that spot

Suns:Devin Booker

It has been since around when he was drafted, he’s been the man his whole career and it’s not changing any time soon

Kings:Domantas Sabonis

He’s so overhated, to be honest if he wasn’t hurt all the time I think he’d be an all star still, he was a walking double double for a bit

Clippers:Kawhi Leonard

There is zero argument for anyone else, this one was way too easy to decide, Mathurin and Garland are coming off of the bench sometimes

Lakers:Luka Doncic

Another easy one, he has great competition but he’s on another level, only a few players are better than him

Warriors:Kristaps Porzingis

It sure isn’t Curry, and Jimmy is hurt, Draymond is old, and no one else is really up there like Porzingis now, they must miss Klay

NFL

Patriots:Christian Gonzalez

This one was actually hard, Gonzo or Maye? I went Gonzo just based off of past success, both are great though

Bills:Josh Allen

Who else could it be? It’s Superman and then the rest of his team, he’s definitely their best player without a second thought

Dolphins:Devon Achane

It could have gone a few ways just a couple of months ago but now everyone is gone, Achane is the last man standing

Jets:Garrett Wilson

Kind of similar to Achane, everyone else went and he was just the last guy left, he will probably be gone soon too

Steelers:TJ Watt

This one is pretty obvious, with Heyward and Ramsey both getting old and no one really being a superstar on offense Watt is a safe bet

Browns:Myles Garrett

This is like asking if the sky is blue, it’s blue unless it’s rainy, Shedeur Sanders is like the rain, he sucks

Ravens:Lamar Jackson

They have a few stars but Lamar stands out, he basically plays 2 positions, both at an elite level, hard to beat

Bengals:Jamarr Chase

If Burrow was healthy this would be a whole different thing, but who knows, maybe Dexter Lawrence can be in the talks soon

Texans:Will Anderson Jr

The only other option is Stingley but it’s still obviously Anderson, I don’t think it’s even a debate yet

Colts:Jonathan Taylor

Quentin Nelson is up there but the way Taylor started this season was just historical, I wish he kept it up

Titans:Jeffery Simmons

They don’t really have any stars but Cam Ward could snatch Simmons’ chain if he develops well this offseason

Jaguars:Josh Hines-Allen

He hasn’t been the same since 2023 but I’m not ready to give it to Trevor Lawrence, he needs to prove he can go 2 seasons without being bad

Broncos:Pat Surtain II

He’s been lockdown for years, there really isn’t anyone else on that team who deserves it more than him

Chargers:Joe Alt

Herbert is good but Alt is one of the best tackles in the league and is young too, he could be an all time great

Chiefs:Patrick Mahomes

Is this one even a question? He’s one of the best NFL players of all time, we don’t want to say it but it’s true

Raiders:Maxx Crosby

It was almost Bowers but the Ravens chickened out of the deal, what a shame

Eagles:Saquon Barkley

He had an off year but so did most of their players, I do see a Cooper DeJean breakout coming up though

Commanders:Terry McLaurin

It could be Jayden if he stays healthy but for now it’s gonna stay as Scary Terry

Cowboys:Ceedee Lamb

I don’t care what anyone says, there is no way on earth that Pickens is better than Lamb, one season doesn’t say anything

Giants:Brian Burns

They really haven’t had a superstar but Burns is the closest thing to it, especially after the Dexter Lawrence trade

Lions:Jahmyr Gibbs

He’s in my opinion the best running back in the league, Sewell and Amon-Ra are up here but Gibbs is definitely the best Lion

Packers:Micah Parsons

He’s one of the best defenders in the league, the Packers are so lucky that they were able to get him

Vikings:Justin Jefferson

There isn’t a close second, we can just move on to the next one, if there was a second thought then whoever thought it needs to be checked out

Bears:Joe Thuney

The Caleb Williams snub is the same reasoning as Trevor Lawrence, he’s had one good year, I just need more out of him

Buccaneers:Tristan Wirfs

It’s either him or Winfield but I went with Wirfs because he has a cooler name, I like to say it

Panthers:Derrick Brown

I feel like this one is pretty obvious too, maybe Tet will be there next year if he can stay off of the streams

Saints:Chris Olave

This one is also pretty obvious, the only argument is Kool-Aid McKinstry but he needs a year, the name is carrying a little

Falcons:Chris Lindstrom

He’s been one of the best offensive linemen for a while, Bates is good but hasn’t been as consistent, Bijan might be here soon

49ers:Christian McCaffrey

3 straight Chris… names, interesting, this one is tight between him, Bosa, Warner, and Williams but CMC has the most production

Rams:Puka Nacua

Puka was a huge part of the Stafford MVP, he is arguably the best receiver in the league, he just needs to stay off of the streams like some other young receivers

Seahawks:Jaxon Smith-Njigba

He’s also arguably the best receiver, he won OPOY last year and it was well deserved, he is definitely the best Seahawk

Cardinals:Budda Baker

It’s definitely Budda but I REALLY want to say it’s Jeremiyah Love, it could be him by midseason, especially if there’s trades

MLB

Red Sox:Garrett Crochet

He’s had a rough year, Ranger Suarez has been better, but he can turn it around and be a Cy Young contender again if he fixes his shoulder

Orioles:Gunnar Henderson

This one is pretty obvious, they have good players but Gunnar is next level, he might be an MVP candidate at some point

Rays:Junior Caminero

It could be Shane McClanahan if he could stay healthy but he’s currently their third guy after playing for the first time since the 2023 season

Blue Jays:Vladimir Guerrero Jr

There was a little Bo Bichette argument last year but now that he’s gone it’s all Vladdy again

Yankees:Aaron Judge

I wish I could say none of them, they all suck, I hate the New York Yankees

Guardians:Jose Ramirez

This one isn’t very close, Clase could be a contender but he has bigger fish to fry right now

Twins:Royce Lewis

It was Buxton for a while but Lewis was tearing it up last year and passed Buxton for me

Royals:Bobby Witt Jr

This one isn’t a question, it’s Witt without a second thought, he’s carrying them right now

Tigers:Tarik Skubal

Back to back Cy Young awards is all I need to say, he is dominant on the mound

White Sox:Munetaka Murakami

In his first year he is already tied for the league lead in home runs and he’s been consistent too

Mariners:Julio Rodriguez

I immediately looked between the three pitchers but then I remembered their young superstar, he’s definitely their best player

Astros:Yordan Alvarez

He’s been one of the best power hitters for years now, he’s almost guaranteed 35 home runs and 90 RBI

Angels:Jose Soriano

Just look at those first 6 games, 5-0, 0.24 ERA, 37.2 innings, 43 strikeouts, that’s insane

Athletics:Brent Rooker

This one is pretty obvious, Jacob Wilson is a far second but it’s definitely Rooker, he’s an elite power hitter

Rangers:Corey Seager

He was a main part of a World Series team multiple times for multiple teams, that’s pretty good

Braves:Ronald Acuña II

He’s one of the best players in the league, he’s fast and can hit for power, everything you want in a player

Mets:Juan Soto

He got payed 765 million dollars, I think it’s safe to say he’s one of the best players in the league

Phillies:Bryce Harper

There’s a lot of options, Trea Turner was a close second but I can’t pass on Bryce Harper for them

Nationals:James Wood

CJ Abrams is close but it’s Wood for me, he has more potential and he’s the better power hitter, I’m biased towards power hitting

Marlins:Eury Perez

It’s been Sandy Alacantra for a while but it’s time for change, Eury is one of the best players in Miami right now

Reds:Sal Stewart

He came out of nowhere and is now one of the best players in baseball, and he’s still young, I’m glad I picked him up in fantasy

Brewers:Jacob Misiorowski

He’s probably the best young pitcher besides Skenes, he is a strikeout machine who throws it 100 miles an hour like it’s nothing

Pirates:Paul Skenes

This one is easy to explain, he throws a crazy fastball, and is just easily the best pitcher in the NL, they don’t really have anyone else either

Cubs:Alex Bregman

Nico Hoerner is close but Bregman is the better power hitter while still hitting for contact and fielding well, I wish the Red Sox could get guys like him…

Cardinals:Jordan Walker

He might be the only bright spot on this team, everyone else is just ok, they traded everyone this offseason

Dodgers:Shohei Ohtani

They have so many superstars but Ohtani is just the man, he might already be the GOAT of baseball, he’s a unicorn

Padres:Fernando Tatis Jr

They have a few stars like Machado who have a fight but to me Tatis is still their guy, even after some issues

Giants:Rafael Devers

They have a few guys, like Adames, Chapman, and Webb, who are up there but Devers is just different

Diamondbacks:Ketel Marte

He had trade rumors around him during the offseason but ended up staying, he is one of the best infielders in the league

Rockies:Hunter Goodman

He was awesome last year, he had an elite breakout and looks to replicate that again this year and continue being their only bright spot

NHL

Bruins:David Pastrnak

One of the best players in the league, he is matching feats of legends like Jaromir Jagr and he’s still got another 5-10 years left

Sabres:Rasmus Dahlin

He’s probably the third best defenseman behind Makar and Hughes, he’s great on offense too, he’s the whole package

Maple Leafs:Auston Matthews

Who else could it be? Matthews has been one of the best in the league since when I started watching

Panthers:Sam Reinhart

It’s either him or Tkachuk but Reinhart did more this year and Tkachuk was injured so there’s slight concern for him

Lightning:Nikita Kucherov

He’s one of the best scorers in the league, he’s been at the top of the points leaderboard almost every year he’s played

Senators:Tim Stutzle

I really wanted to give this to Ullmark but I’m giving it to Stutzle just based off of his production this year

Canadiens:Nick Suzuki

Cole Caufield is really close but Suzuki was on another level scoring 100 point this year and leading the team to the playoffs

Red Wings:Alex DeBrincat

DeBrincat is one of the best goal scorers in the league, he had another 40 goals this year and is still improving

Hurricanes:Sebastian Aho

Aho has been one of the best, most consistent centers in the league for a while, he’s been their best player the whole time too

Penguins:Sidney Crosby

The fact that he’s still so good at such an old age is crazy, he’s been their best player for over 15 years now

Flyers:Trevor Zegras

It was either him or Koceny but I went Zegras because he was just as good and it’s his first year with his new team

Capitals:Alex Ovechkin

It’s Ovechkin and there is no close second, he’s been their best for around 20 years now, he’s the LeBron of hockey

Blue Jackets:Zach Werenski

He lead their team in points as a defenseman, that means that either they suck or he’s one of the best in the league

Islanders:Ilya Sorokin

He’s one of the best goalies in the league, he’s a Vezina trophy finalist and could definitely win it this year when looking at the competition

Devils:Jack Hughes

He’s one of the best players in the league when he’s healthy, his best moment though was definitely the golden goal during the Winter Olympics, I remember watching that live, it was awesome

Rangers:Igor Shesterkin

They traded Artemi Panarin who would have been up there but now it’s time for Shesterkin to shine, he’s been one of the best goalies for years now

Avalanche:Nathan MacKinnon

He lead the best team in the league after last year they traded their second best player and also, the other linemate, Gabriel Landeskog, has been injured for 3 years

Stars:Mikko Rantanen

There’s a few ways I could go, Jason Robertson, Miro Heiskanen, or Jake Oettinger, but I’m going with the guy who the Avalanche traded to the Hurricanes mid season who then traded him to the Stars

Wild:Quinn Hughes

It’s either him or Kirill Kaprizov but I went with Quinn because he came in to a new system and became their best player very fast

Mammoth:Clayton Keller

He’s one of the best assist creators in the league, he always manages to get 40+ assists every year despite his team normally being pretty bad

Blues:Robert Thomas

He lead them in total points, goals, and assists, I don’t know what else he needs to do to prove that it’s him

Predators:Juuse Saros

They have a few guys, like Roman Josi, Steven Stamkos, and Filip Forsberg, who are up there but Juuse takes the cake still

Jets:Connor Hellebuyck

He’s one of, if not, the best goalies in the league, if his team won more he would have won the Vezina again and it wouldn’t be too close either

Blackhawks:Connor Bedard

He hasn’t developed well but he’s still definitely the best guy on the team, they have absolutely no one around him, it’s the team’s fault for not getting people to help him properly develop into the top prospect he was supposed to be

Golden Knights:Jack Eichel

Mitchell Marner was a close second but he struggled to adjust to the system at the start of the season and Eichel was good all year

Oilers:Connor McDavid

He’s one of the best to ever to it, he might retire as the second best behind Gretzky, there’s no question that it’s him, shoutout Leon Draisitl though

Ducks:Cutter Gauthier

He was a machine this year, scoring 40 goals, in his true breakout, he lead the team in total points and goals this year

Kings:Artemi Panarin

He only had 27 points for them but he was a point per game scorer and finished the year with 84 which would have lead the team

Sharks:Macklin Celebrini

He had another insane season for a second year player, he wasn’t the best in his rookie year but he proved why he was the guy this year

Kraken:Vince Dunn

This team’s leading scorer had 55 points, that is actually tragic, Dunn might be their only hope, they might never be good in our lifetimes

Flames:Dustin Wolf

If you ever feel bad about your team, know that the Flames’ leading scorer had 45 points, so give me their goalie

Canucks:Thatcher Demko

They traded Quinn Hughes and no one else on offense is any good so I went with their injured goalie who when healthy is pretty good

That was every team of every league, who did I miss, who was snubbed, let me know down below. Please like and flame!
