Why Warriors should do it: Shaedon Sharpe is in a budget Lavine, who fits much better than Kuminga. It's easier to just find your second option backcourt than a stretch big. While Shaeodon isn't current fit, it makes it only better for a buy low target. TBH, i don't why Portlant would trade him if not for his availability. On the other side, Sharpe is an elite athlete like Kuminga, and is one hell of rising star who can actually dribble, get the rim and finish strong unlike Kuminga. This is the type of rookie contract the Warriors should target because the number is not crazy so they can just trim down some of the rotation without giving their depth advantage and keep their picks to be make one more big move.
Why Portland would do it: Shaeodon Sharpe's availability is a question, and they have a crowed backcourt with Simmons and Henderson. Kuminga is not playing free in Warrios but he will in Portland. He will provide rim pressure and post score while defending POA for Portland. It is especially valuable when neither guards are known for their defense. I know Kuminga's potential contract can be a turnoff, but he will be a restricted FA, and I doubt anyone would offer him a max in this climax. Overall, Kuminga can provide more consistency and fit for Shaeodon Sharpe.
