Thanks to Pode Cre in my comments I made this trade. Horford is a bad fit alongside Embiid and his contract is awful. They use a first round pick to dump him off to the Cavs who are rebuilding. The Celtics need a center so they get Drummond and move Hayward who is expiring after this season to the 76ers. The 76ers do this because Hayward is a much better fit than Horford. They would move Tobias Harris to the PF spot and put Hayward at SF. The Cavs do this for the pick. They don’t have any young centers that Horford will take minutes from and if they do draft one he will be a good mentor and leader. I think all parties say yes, but if one were to say no it would probably be the Cavs because they won’t want to take on the Horford contract and I don’t think that the 6ers are willing to give up two firsts to get rid of that contract but maybe a second rounder or two. This trade only works if Hayward opts into his player option which he should.
