So the Sixers have been great this season, but are still not good enough to be competing with the Giants of the West. I see the Sixers making a lot of moves around the Trade Deadline, and this could be one of them. With this trade, they get a player that has been rumoured to be a target for them, Kyle Lowry. Kyle Lowry is a 34 year old multi positional who might be able to take this team to the next level. He is an all around basketball player who has been a great player for the past 8 years for the Raptors. With 6 all star appearances, an All NBA 3rd team season, and championship under his belt, Kyle Lowry is a player that many teams could be in the market for. The Sixers being one of them. Lowry would be a great fit on the roster, and his flexibility for playing both PG and SG could allow for some interesting experiments by Doc Rivers. With both Simmons and Lowry on the team, the Sixers would be able to have at least one great playmakers on the floor at all times, which could be beneficial. I think Lowry could help take this team to the next level, and the Sixers could be a real threat in the playoffs with 4 all star/fringe all star level players on the team.

Simmons—Lowry—Shake—Harris—Embid

The Raptors have reportedly told Lowry that they would reward him by trading him to a contending team if that’s what he wanted. Today, we found that Kyle Lowry has his hometown team, the Sixers, at the top of his preferred destinations list. This could be a potential deal to send Lowry home. The Raptors get back a solid young player in Maxey who could become really good if our development system does what it’s known to do. They also get multiple expiring contracts in Green, Scott, and Bradley, and a first round pick. There is also a 2023 swap included. This would be good value back for Lowry, and maybe the right thing to do as Lowry has done so much for this team that he deserves to have a shot at another title.
