Cavs add a familiar face, a good-sized wing and duck the tax. Utah unloads Sexton in favor of an expiring and get a solid player in Dosunmu. Chicago gets some assets for a possible rebuild….

Cavs get: Collin Sexton, Deni Avdija and Walker Kessler Jazz get: Anfernee Simons, Caris LeVert and Georges Niang Blazers get: John Collins, Max Strus and '31 unprotected first via Cavs
Why? Cavs bolster their roster, Sexton can be our 6th man, Avdija would start at the 3 and Kessler would be our 3rd big. We also avoid the tax in the process. Jazz add Simons while keeping all of their firsts. They can flip LeVert and Niang for more picks. Blazers give Sharpe the starting role, Collins could be flipped for more assets, and they get a high variable first….

Cavs get: Collin Sexton, Walker Kessler and Brice Sensabaugh Jazz get: Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, Ty Jerome and 2031 unprotected first
Why? Cavs address some needs. They get a back-up guard, a 3rd big and a wing prospect. We also duck the tax. Jazz add a few players they can flip for more assets and a high variable first round pick….

Cavs gamble on Williams. I think a change of scenery could help him. The cost is too good to pass up. Terry is a wing with length and an improving shooter.
Bulls dump Williams at a cheap cost. LeVert is an expiring and Niang is a small contract. They get some 2nd round picks as well.
Cavs also get under the tax with this trade….

Cavs get the big wing they've been searching for. Nets get a good package for Johnson. A good prospect (Tyson), an expiring (LeVert) and two good, high variable picks. Also, some 2nds.
There might be a bidding war for Johnson, which is why I included the picks.
Johnson's spacing would help our team tremendously, imo….

I feel like this trade benefits all sides. Cavs need size at the wing, they address that in this trade.
Chicago dumps Patrick Williams, who just signed a pretty juicy 5-year contract. They also get some good role players and a couple 2nd rounders, and finally, they save some money.
Detroit adds a veteran shooter who played for Bickerstaff.
You could swap Strus for LeVert, but I honestly think LeVert is far more important than Strus. Also, LeVert played for Atkinson when he was in Brooklyn, there is some familiarity there.

I think the Cavs should do this. We lack size at the wing. Also, we've been winning without Strus, so I think he's somewhat expandable in a trade where we address our needs.
Still need a back-up center….
