Brooklyn isn’t in control of its own first rounder until 2027 (if I’m not mistaken). There’s zero incentive for them to be a bad team. Here they use a couple assets acquired from the KD and Harden trades to get Zach Lavine. They also trade 2023 draft pick Dariq Whitehead. They then flip Finney-Smith along with DeMar for the expiring contract of Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson and additional assets.
