Areas of Strength:
-Transition Play One man fastbreak capable of blowing past defenders any time he gets the ball. Able to embrace contact and hang in the air to make tough finishes. Keeps eyes up and routinely finds teammates on fastbreak. Extremely athletic, capable of out running and jumping most other players. Explosive of one foot and two feet.
Can sometimes be out of control because of extreme athleticism.
-Finishing at the rim Good size and large wingspan allows him to finish through/around/above all defenders. He is extremely flexible and has great body control and balance in the air. He is very creative and acrobatic in the air resulting in crazy finishes while he hangs in the air.
Can sometimes get out muscled and is not able to get a straight line drive to the rim. Will need to add some strength in the league, shouldn't be a major issue.
-Driving Can easily get to the rim against any defender. Mostly uses hang dribbles/hesitations and change of pace to create seperation and get to the rim.
-Shot Creation Showed the ability to make tough shots especially in big moments. Good creativity and use of stepbacks to create separation
-Shooting Was a streaky shooter over the course of the year, but mostly shot the ball well with good mechanics and was able to extend his range. Had some nice pullups and off the dribble. His footwork off of screens and movement was encouraging. Used both mostly L/R gathers for catch and shoot and shot 36% off these looks in college.
General:
-Projected Role Combo guard with potential to become lead guard Potential to be number 1 option on contender
-NBA comp Ja Morant
The ability to get downhill with a combination of explosion and handle (cross jab, hesi, hang dribble) is very similar. His scoring role at Purdue this year was super close to Morant's in memphis. Primarily a downhill/transition player but can create from range if required.
