Very tall, giraffe-like build, impactful center Effective in the dunker spot, lob threat in Florida Solid length, interior defense is excellent Cooked in the post, easy target, blocks man out so well Very active hands, block machine Lacks ball security, loose grasp, needs to work on that before making an impact at the next level Solid post moves, diverse bag, manipulates inexperienced defenders Needs patience on the defensive end, leaves his feet way too early (falls for fakes), even blocks are sketchy, easily could be fouls in the NBA Length allows him to reach and cover so much space on the court Just unnatural in his body, loses ball commonly, doesn’ move and operate fluidly Just so slow out there on the court, slug Clumsy always seems a bit off-balanced, on his heels Worked as main offensive creator for Florida, got to him in the high-key and let him see the court around him Solid outlet passer, contributes and finishes swing actions Just don’t see him penetrating NBA big men, was slowed by South Carolina bigs Like his shimmies and first step in the post, gets low, finishes above contact. Really mechanical yet creative in the post Just seems like a foul machine at the NBA level Half-court awareness. Seeks out open shooters on the elbows. Sometimes a bit so slow and unreactive to get his hands up and contest Effective as a dunker, functional as a paint scorer Clearly coached footwork, fundamental Like how he keeps his head up in the post, rarely forces shot, finds cutters and shooters Mild help defense IQ, sometimes leaves man wide-open, available for an easy finish Doesn’t always get physical, i.e. block out, contest with verticality Not always the most reliable finisher outside of dunks Keeps himself available off-ball, always looking for the easiest way to score Mastermind of ball fakes, gets defenders off their feet Always get nervous when he moves, so slow, unbalanced. Takes a full second for him to recover after a jump Uncomfortable ball-handler, catch-and-finish big Unimpressive vertical for his height Flashes of defensive dominance, tough to shoot over, covers a lot of ground, presence Passes don’t always hit the spot, good vision, poor accuracy and touch Not a floor spacer, zero threat as a shooter Struggle seeing Castleton getting real NBA minutes, just not a consistent versatile contributor

Tier 8) PROJECT/FRINGE ROTATIONAL PLAYER

  • 6’11 solid body with 7’3 wingspan

  • 23 years old

  • Has a ton of skill for a Center

  • offensively right now strictly a scorer with touch, some hooks, right hand layups, but has shown willingness to take mid range and 3 point jumpers but haven’t had much efficiency form there

  • not a strong finisher in traffic and struggles with left

  • runners/floaters, hooks, tip ins and dump offs is how he gets his shots off around rim

  • Very talented passer out of post and top of the key finding all cutters and open shooters

  • even flashed some solid handling as well

  • Defensive a very patient shot blocker

  • slides feet well also and can switch onto the occasional perimeter player

  • plays with a dog to him on both sides as well

  • If the jumper went in more he would be a first rounder for sure

  • Bogut/Divac Hybrid

  • RANGE: Quality Rotation Center/Spot Starter ————Overseas

(14 spots higher than consensus)

Center: 7'0"

Castleton is a big man with a unique skillset and high competitive intensity. He is a great passer and has rare fluidity as a ball handler. He is a long rim protector averaging a 8.5 block%. He does lack physicality and vertical pop which makes finishing at the rim difficult.

Long Term NBA Role/Ceiling: Rotation Piece / Rim protecting playmaking big

Draft Range: Late second - UDFA

Player Comparison: Zach Collins
