This is my top 50 Draft Big Board for 2023. Have players grouped in Tiers, and provided some quick notes I took when watching videos on each player. In addition, there is also a bottom piece of the notes that goes over the range of career paths I think each player can have.

⭐️ = One of my top 10 favorite players to watch in this Draft

*My Pre draft prediction is that by the end of the 2025 season at least 24 of these players will be playing meaningful rotation minutes on an NBA team with at least 5 players being all star caliber players *…

Los Angeles Clippers

Overview:

The Clippers had an excellent draft night. No trades for them and the team did not address the Point Guard need but nonetheless got two great players ready to come in and contribute right away. Kobe Brown was one of my favorite players in the draft and I think his fit with this team is perfect. He's sort of a mix of Marcus Morris and Nicolas Batum but younger and cheaper. I think Kobe can play in lineups with PG and Kawhi and fill in when one (or both) eventually get injured as well. He's 23 and played a lot of basketball but for a team looking to compete for championships there is no time for project players. The same can be said with Jordan Miller who is a slightly lesser version of Brown and can provide forward depth. Reliability, High IQ, and lack of mistakes is how rookie…

The Bucks took some project players here and I appreciate their willingness to swing for the fences while in championship contender mode. On the other hand, taking two players who cant really shoot it was a bit of a puzzling move for me especially with Maxwell Lewis and Seth Lundy still on the board at 36. I don't see how either of these players can get on the court with Giannis right away but Jackson could carve himself out a nice role as Giannis's backup as he works on his jumper. He's an excellent …

As we get close to Draft day, this is Mock Draft incorporating reported trade scenarios (mixed with some of my own). The Mock was more of how I would draft mixed in with what I have been hearing online as well….

With rumors circulating that a western conference team is trying to trade up for for the #2 or #3 pick I think the #2 makes the most sense. And the team with the most assets, and solid cap numbers to work with was the pelicans. I think they are okay with trading either BI or Zion but in this one I went with BI. (will do another one focused on Zion because if he can stay healthy LaMelo and Zion would be fun as hell). I'm not a cap expert and used projections online to replicate signings in this scenario but let me know what you think of this scenario. Are both teams getting better and competing for real playoff spots?

Potential rotations for both teams include…..

Hornets Pelicans
LaMelo Scoot
Trent CJ
Ingram Murphy
Bridges Zion
Williams Jonas
Kira Daniels/Jose
Terry Herb
Oubre Gordon
Cody Martin Nance
Hayes Bryant

So I'm really high on this upcoming draft and am mostly finished with my Big Board and have come up away with one thought.

Factoring in Injuries, bad team fits, off-the-court issues there's just no way there aren't at least 25 dudes in this draft who will be playing quality rotational minutes on an NBA team for at least 5 years.

So with that in mind, I went and checked out each Draft since 2000 and counted the number of players that have played quality minutes in a rotation for AT LEAST a 5-year span in the NBA give or take a couple of fringe guys. This is what I came up with…

'00 --- 12 '01 --- 17 '02 --- 12 '03 --- 25 '04 --- 20 '05 --- 21 '06 --- 15 '07 --- 20 '08 --- 23 '09 --- 20 '10 --- 20 '11 --- 24 '12 --- 16 '13 --- 16 '14 --- 20 '15 --- 20 '16 --- 16 '17 --- 18 '18 --- 24 '19 --- 23 '20 --- 22 '21 --- 21 '22 --- 19

Came to the conclusion… 15-18 rotational dudes = BAD DRAFT 19-22 rotational dudes = AVG DRAFT 23+ rotational dudes = GREAT DRAFT

Is this a historic NBA Dr…

This trade would also include probably a pick swap in 2024 as well.

For the Blazers, I think its time to finally give up on the dream of getting Dame a championship level roster to compete. But on the other hand Dame isn't a superstar in his prime either. He is 33 and probably has about 3-4 years left in the tank of elite level play. I don't really expect the package to be as massive as some we have seen in recent years but it will be significant none the less.

Portland has reportedly said they will help Dame if it comes to a trade and send him to a destination he likes in the Eastern Conference. I think there are about 4-6 possible destinations in the East for Dame but all require making the team worse by trading for him. The Celtics, Raptors, Philly, and Brooklyn require giving up significant pieces in order to get Dame and I don't think that catapults any of those teams odds to win a finals for the next couple of years.

Miami and Orlando struck me as a couple of teams that just m…
