⭐️5.Reed Sheppard Tier 2) Really good starter/All Star level
6’3 solidly built and compact but wingspan only 6’4
best looking jumpshot in the class and shoots the shit out of the ball.
Quick release, doesn’t dip the ball much and can shoot from any catch point or even in pull up situations. Also releases high and lets him get shot off in tough situations.
Handle is very solid and shows some good shiftiness, change of pace and crossovers. *Also keeps his head up and has the best IQ in the draft and finds the open man. Hes only averaging 4.8 assists in college but that’s coming off the bench and I think this number in the NBA could be 7.5+ depending on if he’s allowed to play more PG
Has a real solid bag of scoring moves. He hits mid range pull up at high clip. Gets to the basket well and can finish with both hands. Midrange floater also there and then active as a cutter/ mover off ball. He also had a very quick 3 point pull up jumper that he is converting at a great clip so pretty good 3 level scorer.
good driver off closeouts when lanes are open and has made some tough shots through traffic both in midrange and on layup *Offensively he’s a pretty complete and efficient PG in my eyes and not really much to criticize at all.
on Defense this guy is absolutely no slouch either.
Pesky defender that has an act for getting on ball and off ball deflections and steals. He crowds the ball handler well and pokes at the ball making them uncomfortable. At times could be alittle too much of a gambler in some passing lanes. *he can only probably guard 2 positions but he has a solid enough build to be able to guard anyone 6-5 and under I’d say. *Sometimes gets blown by by elite athletes but a good coach should be able to keep him on the floor in the NBA full time.
Team defense, reading the ball handler eyes off ball, and positioning is also really good. He knows the game really well overall and has highest IQ on both ends in the draft
*He also hustles his ass off on both ends and doesn’t look to give up on possessions let alone the game. *only things I look for in Reed is to continue good/great shooting splits and maybe up the amount of threes (from 4-6 maybe). He definitely had the highest floor of any player and that’s a testament to the lack of holes in his game. If he was 6’5+ or a crazier athlete he would be a consensus #1 choice in this draft. *6’3 hybrid of Stockton/billups/Derrick White
