So I'm really high on this upcoming draft and am mostly finished with my Big Board and have come up away with one thought.
Factoring in Injuries, bad team fits, off-the-court issues there's just no way there aren't at least 25 dudes in this draft who will be playing quality rotational minutes on an NBA team for at least 5 years.
So with that in mind, I went and checked out each Draft since 2000 and counted the number of players that have played quality minutes in a rotation for AT LEAST a 5-year span in the NBA give or take a couple of fringe guys. This is what I came up with...
'00 --- 12
'01 --- 17
'02 --- 12
'03 --- 25
'04 --- 20
'05 --- 21
'06 --- 15
'07 --- 20
'08 --- 23
'09 --- 20
'10 --- 20
'11 --- 24
'12 --- 16
'13 --- 16
'14 --- 20
'15 --- 20
'16 --- 16
'17 --- 18
'18 --- 24
'19 --- 23
'20 --- 22
'21 --- 21
'22 --- 19
Came to the conclusion...
15-18 rotational dudes = BAD DRAFT
19-22 rotational dudes = AVG DRAFT
23+ rotational dudes = GREAT DRAFT
Is this a historic NBA Draft we are about to get?
