  • Balanced, good lift and high release on perimeter shooting. Has improved his FT% greatly, but still only 68%.

  • Very good offensive rebounder.

  • A high level PNP prospect.

Player analysis

Isaiah Mobley is a bit of a throwback big with a lot of skill, he is a really gifted passer for 6’10. He was relied upon as a ball handler for USC that shouldered a majority of the load for the entire team for most situations, his on off the floor numbers were outstanding and without him the team was in complete shambles. For his first two seasons he was a role player that acted as bait for his younger brother Evan Mobley who ended up as a top three pick in last year's draft and was also a serious rookie of the year candidate. Now with a depleted roster this year Isaiah was forced to be the main option and ended up dragging USC to the NCAA tournament. He is a great passer and is the most versatile big in the draft outside of the top five prospects, teams will target him because of his scalability and versatility that can allow him to plug into a lot of systems. On defense he isn’t the most imposing, especially on the inside compared to many centers in the draft but he still manages to hold his own. He is one of the more gifted perimeter defenders at his size which gives him a unique edge/possession over other players in this position. He does play smaller than he actually is at 6’10 because he lies on the leaner end like his brother but because of his polished game he is in such a unique sector in terms of skillset its hard to see him go undrafted.

From here on out I think all of these guys have a shot at getting drafted in the late second. Anyone behind them in my eyes will be undrafted. Evan Mobley's brother Isaiah is definitely not the prospect Evan was but he has a ton of upside. A 6'11 230lb big who can shoot and pass will always get opportunities in the NBA. He isn't overly athletic though and isn't a great defender because of it. Isaiah will get a shot whether thats through the late second round or getting signed to a two way contract. I'm confident that he will make the NBA next year.

Defensive versatility, able to guard down low in the paint and in isolation situations. Wants to improve as a playmaker through passes out the post. Can catch-and-shoot well for his size.

Not athletic in offensive situations against primary defender. Not a very good rim protector for being a tall forward, very nerve-racking.
