Labaron Philon High End: Jumbo Kyle Lowry Low End: TJ McConnell Median outcome: Jrue Holiday lite (Cason Wallace) Pros: Motor, playmaking, interior scoring, rebounding Cons: Frame, shot consistency, athleticism Verdict: Labaron Philon might just be a freshman, but he plays such a winning style of basketball on both sides of the game. He doesn’t have elite burst compared to other guard prospects, but his best physical trait is his change of direction which allows him to play a herky-jerky style (almost Jalen Brunson) and makes him a good interior scorer when combining his craftiness and touch on floaters. His feel as a playmaker is immense and really opens the floor up for him. He still needs to improve on his comfortability on 3pt shooting as he has shown flashes throughout the year that he can make them on a decent clip. Another area for improvement would be learning to finish through contact as he is still quite light in his current body.

this is just kam jones 2.0, except a younger version who hasn’t managed his energy and motor as well as jones has.

every pro of jones can be applied to philon (just maybe not to the same extent). philon has more upside though and could be a slightly better player in the future. they’re pretty similar prospects overall just with philon being more raw and less NBA ready currently (and not as good as a lead ball handler yet).

need to watch more film on philon, know he's fallen off a little bit but i've yet to see how much. ranking could change later.
