High End: Gary Harris (extreme outlier vibe: Penny Hardaway) Low End: Keon Johnson/Matisse Thybulle Median outcome: Bruce Brown Pros: Defense, athleticism, passing Cons: Interior scoring, shooting Verdict: Very intriguing statistical performer as a defender, but everything about Byrd's offense leaves something to be desired. His 3pt shooting has good splits, but the form is a bit janky and should be tweaked for a faster and cleaner release which should assist in increasing his percentages. He's a solid off-ball mover and can dunk the ball due to his athleticism, but he struggles to finish through contact or just finish in general despite this. If the shot does not develop, Byrd might be a case of wasted potential because everything about him, from his frame to his traits, just scream NBA 3&D.

Long, athletic defensive wing who could've declared last year, but decided to stay. He has upside as a shooter and a playmaker but needs to work on his self-creation in isolation. His handle is functional but not advanced.

NBA Comp: Josh Okogie

NBA Comparison: Isaiah Joe / Donte Divincenzo

Byrd is not an NBA Ready Prospect which make him hard to pick as a Junior. However, his intangibles are strong and his potential skillset fall ideally for a role player in a Motion offense. Projecting into the NBA he functions in a Donte Divincenzo type role, however he just has not shot nearly at that level yet. He's a solid, smart defender so you can live with him not really being a sniper like that.

Rounding out his offensive game, He's a 6'7 but plays like a SG. He's a smart secondary passer and moves without the ball well. His fluidity as an athlete make you feel like he could develop an on ball game but his handle is just very loose and turnover prone. The moves exist in his bag but they just aren't tight enough to execute at the NBA level right now.

Ultimately, it depends what type of shooter he becomes. His stroke is smooth, but the release is a little bit low. However, he was a very good free throw shooter. If you pair improved shooting with his handle tightening, you kind of a Divincenzo-esque role player with a little more length. But again, these are stretches for a guy who shot 30% from 3 though many were movement shots.

Good chance he simply flames out of the league, but there is potential for a really effective role player, and if everything breaks right is playing a good chunk of important playoff minutes or even starting for teams.

Pro Comp: Troy Brown Jr.

Guy who can defend on the perimiter, switch onto bigs at times, and also can knock down 3's at a high clip. I dont think he'll ever be a star, but he should be a guy getting mins off the bench.

21- Miles Byrd (San Diego State, SF)- S: scoring or not, always trying on defense, good at being part of getting deflections, a good defender, a willing consistent passer, he sees as a good play before it happens

W: Inconsistent offense player
