Défenseur polyvalent, Ighodaro est un ailier-fort, annoncé à 2m08-10, capable de défendre au large et avec la taille pour tenir également près du panier. Mobile, intelligent et combatif, c'est surtout ses qualités de passeur qui en font le coéquipier modèle, lui qui gaspille très peu le cuir. Trop fruste pour un poste 4 et trop moyen au contre pour un poste 5, le plafond ne semble néanmoins pas bien haut pour ce joueur de (déjà) 22 ans. En tout cas, il ressemble à ces glue guys capables d'assurer de bonnes minutes immédiatement chez un candidat au titre, surtout s'il tombe sur le bon acolyte dans la raquette.

Highs: good passer (for cutters), he’s a cutter, rebounder, nice floater game very comfortable with it, read and react, can do screens, can bring the ball down, he can switch on guards at times

Lows: does not shoot 3’s, not really a shooter an old fashion type of player (center like to be honest but plays like a PF), stay strong going at the rim ALWAYS, a non factor sometimes outside of the rim

STRENGTHS:

• Perhaps the best passing big in this class; really knows how to keep the ball moving and keep the offense free-flowing. Hits cutters when he is in the post well

• A versatile switch defender who was a stat sheet producer on the defensive end (over a steal and a block per game)

• A physical screener who screens hard; plays hard on both ends and is able

• Solid ability to adjust to contact and can go ahead and get off some makes in the post and on contact finishes at the rim

WEAKNESSES:

• Only took seven jump shots this season; an extremely low number in a league where jump shooting is a requirement for everyone unless you have an incredible secondary skill

• Like Mogbo, the lack of shooting and size does not make him a great prototypical center or power forward; will often lose the rebounding level because of the different levels of physicality

• Not a player who is able to run out and play hard in transition

• Does not have much post-up creativity and counters when he is there; going to rely a ton on pass first guards that will run the two-man game

Best role upon entering the NBA: Development back up big who can play spot minutes as a versatile, screen setting, DHO offensive hub.

Pros: Can attack rim with speed, Lengthy and uses it well, Post backdowns tremendously unless other guy is bigger, Good floater/push shot.

Cons: Small for Position, Gets dominated under the basket, Can’t pass accurately on a regular, needs to anticipate more, rebounding needs hard improvement.
