He’s a good shooter, and tall, and a good rebounder and an ok defender, but don’t expect him to be very good at much else in the pros. His post game won’t be effective but he could adapt his game to be a good off ball mover and shooter to be a bench piece for a team

Older prospect but he can knock down the three now. Solid athlete with a decent handle and some rim pressure. He is just okay as a passer. Plus defender but he isn’t super quick so I’m curious how his on ball defense will translate. Not sure if his shooting or defense will be good enough for him to land in a 3 and D role.

Tristan da Silva - Colorado (PF - HT: 6’9” - WING: - WT: - A: )

- Tall, fluid, and high-feel power wing who can do everything on offense
- Great shooter with a high release
- Makes good reads and can rack up assists
- Poor rebounder for his size
- Good team defender, not great on the POA but not a crazy negative
- Shades of Trey Lyles, Santi Aldama
- Best fits: NYK, ATL, TOR, POR, GSW, anywhere needing big shooters

GSW Position: PF, SF

Highs: Can pass, rebound, shoot 3’s, can go inside as well, has a calmness to him but is still playing the right way, can put the ball on the floor and make a play at times when needed, has a jump shot, a fast cutter to dunk, lay it up or a floater (not your average athleticism very sneaky one you can forget it about it at times), can move without the ball, can be a catch and shoot guys at times as well, can makes shot coming off a screen or curl pretty fast, he sometimes still jump high for a rebound even with his length, when he gets a defensive rebound he wants to push ball for a teammate to score in transition, can bring the ball up, a very smart player in knowing where to be at in offenses and how to guard certain opponents (he sometimes will let his opponent go in front of him a little bit because he can defend from the side with his length), good at steals because his long arms but also knowing where the ball will be at for a player so he will break it up to create a steal

Lows: turnovers can worry at times, has to get stronger when trying to back down the opponent, his jump shot needs to be better coming off of curls, when 2 comes at him he gets uncomfortable creating a turnover

Tristan Da Silva https://youtu.be/Xfm-Q2bcuyg?si=T5ssPJme9EziNzTb

This is my second choice with our first second round pick. At the college level in second round, I like players who executed well at the college level and do not like taking projects so late in draft. In the second round, I ignore age. Mainly because I do not have the skill to find a Manu or Jokic in late draft lol. If we keep the final second round pick, I want to get this guy as well. He is a good defender, shooter, and pretty mobile. I prefer PJ Hall first but if PJ gone. I want this guy but would not mind both. This guy is slower than PJ and both are 6'9ish. He would be more of a 5 than guy who can guard 3,4,5.

STRENGTHS:

  • Became a very comfortable shooter last season, shooting 40% on catch and shoot 3s and 40% on all three pointers at around 5 attempts a night

  • Absorbs contact real well when he gets to the rim; is very composed when he gets to the rim and does a good job of utilizing jump and running hooks, shooting 64% at the rim

  • A very superb cutter who knows how to cut without the intent of scoring; often was a decoy because of the attention he gets and inadvertently creates open space for shooters, but also knows how to punish his match-up when he looks to score off cuts. A very good connecting piece at the wing who can make accurate passes over the top of defenses

  • Does a good job fronting the post and bouncing post-up players out of position; does not get beat off the dribble often, has good length to recover and does a good job of keeping the team shell together

WEAKNESSES:

  • Good shooters make their open shots, great shooters make contested shots, too; only shot 35% on guarded catch and shoots as well as only 21% on dribble jumpers and will need to get used to fast close-outs at the next level

  • He is a player who needs to be schemed up his shots; does not run a whole lot of isolation or thrive in 1v1 opportunities on offense with only 4% of his possessions last year coming from isolation. Does not have the confidence to play that way

  • Not a great effort rebounder or technical rebounder; is a bit of a ball watcher

  • Does not produce a lot defensively in the stat sheet; just more of a team defender than an individual one

  • Average physical traits; 6'8" with a 6'10" wingspan. Nitpicky but worth noting

Best role upon entering the NBA: Spot-up shooter who can come off of pin-downs from the corner, as well as a pick and roll/pop screen setter and cutter

Player Comparison: Shades of Cameron Johnson and Kyle Kuzma
