This move has already been rumored to happen so I figured I would make a trade around CJ for Pascal. First off, CJ and an unprotected first for Pascal Siakam. Both teams walk out with things they need. Toronto needs a scoring option as Fred isn't really a go to guy but CJ can be. For Portland, Pascal raises our team defense by a lot. He can operate as a 2nd option to Dame and form a great defensive frontcourt with Covington. Then we trade DJJ and Anfernee Simons for MCW and Mo Bamba. The Magic need scoring that Simons can provide and DJJ is another young player to contribute to their rebuild. Magic also get a 2nd. Normally I don't think the Magic would give back Mo Bamba but the organization doesn't seem to like him. When Vucevic was there he was relegated to garbage minutes as he was playing behind an all star, but when the Vucevic trade went through and Wendell went to Orlando, Bamba still didn't get that much PT despite being the better player IMO. For that reason I think the Magic could say yes to this. In Free Agency, Toronto will most likely throw a bag at Holmes that might even be more than this, but Toronto will sign a big this offseason, ideally Holmes. For Portland, they have to pay what I call the Small Market tax. Portland isn't a desirable destination to play, never had been. So we end up having to overpay players to come play with us. Evan Fournier could hopefully come and be our sixth man but if he doesn't work out I think going after THT or Malik Monk could work also to fill the Jordan Clarkson role on this team. My sleeper pickup would be Jarred Vanderbilt. Not a ton of people pay attention to him because he doesn't do anything particularly flashy but the dude is a menace on defense. His offense hasn't really caught up but playing in Portland who consistently has a top 5 offense could help him develop. He is after all only 22. He would play as RoCo's backup and I think 22.5 mil over 3 years is enough to where the Timberwolves won't match the offer.
