If the Sixers lose Game 7, Simmons' value might be low enough for Portland to swoop in.

So Ben Simmons has sucked in the playoffs, like really sucked. He's putting up Wilt Chamberlain type numbers in the worst possible way(from the FT line) and is virtually nonexistent on offense. Even with that, virtually ever other part of his game is elite. He is one of the league's best defenders although we aren't seeing as much of that because he isn't guarding Trae Young for some reason. They should find a better suiting partner for Embiid because Simmons and Embiid don't work. Dame and Simmons however would work great. You could play Simmons at either the 3 or 4 and have him be a secondary ball handler, his flaws on offense are easier to hide when he isn't the primary ball handler, he can play like a slashing 3 or even a bit like giannis in the post and still defend the other team's best player. CJ also fits embiid better, he would probably play the point for Philly and while he isn't as good of a playmaker as Simmons, he is close and he can also create his own shot on the perimeter. The combo of CJ, Tobi, and a little bit of either Danny Green or Curry is more than enough to keep defenses honest from the 3 and gives embiid more space in the post to work. As for a backup big, Dwight Howard or Javale McGee are both great options and should be standout candidates for the Sixers, but they should also consider bringing in Boban who is still a fan favorite wherever he goes and has a great relationship with Harris. For the Trailblazers, Simmons just fits better with the team, he can be used more effectively on offense and still bring DPOY level defense. Bringing back Norman Powell is also something the Blazers should heavily go after this offseason, his ability to play as a 3-level scorer and play great defense on guards makes him a great pairing next to Dame, he also doesn't need the ball a lot to be effective on offense. Having Nurkic and Simmons on the floor might be a bit of a problem so to combat that, the backup bigs should be Zach Collins and Mike Muscala. Both Zach and Nurkic struggle with health, which is why Muscala or a guy like him should be sought after. Additionally both Collins and Muscala can stretch the floor. A follow up trade could be made to trade Nurkic for a stretch 5, but the value of what you might get in return isn't great. Nurkic is also one of the best passing centers in the league so his ability to attack in the pick and roll would allow room for both him and Simmons to work. The other big signings in free agency include Paul Milsap, who is a stretch 4 vet who can share minutes with Roco, and Kendrick Nunn who can add scoring off of the bench. Ben Simmons would play point at some point when dame is getting rest and he is out there by himself so guys like shake and kendrick who can get a bucket by themselves are good pieces to surround ben with.

New Sixers: CJ - Curry - Green - Harris - Embiid Bench: Hill - Simons - Thybulle - DJJ/Paul Reed - Howard or McGee/Boban

New Blazers: Dame - Powell - Simmons - Roco - Nurkic Bench: Nunn - Shake - Little - Milsap - Collins/Muscala
