An unlikely three-team trade

SUCCESS

・Portland

Whether it’s Simons or Simmons, neither will be part of the long-term plan. Ben will enter the buyout market after the trade. Since Scoot and Clingan, who are already capable contributors, are right behind Ant and RWIII, they’ll likely be traded sooner or later. Portland will likely showcase RWIII as soon as his health is confirmed and try to sell high.

・Brooklyn

Cam Thomas and Ant likely can’t coexist, and that’s the core of why it’s “unlikely.” However, they’re not in a hurry to build something and have an excess of picks, potentially four FRPs. They don’t have a foundational player right now, but someone like Flagg/Bailey or Harper/Traore could be that core piece. Since serious contention is still a bit down the line, they can bring in veterans to help develop the young players slowly. You know a team made up of only young guys doesn’t work out well, right?

・New Orleans

They need to trade BI first. He’s an inefficient mid-range shooter and weak in rebounding and perimeter defense. To me, he’s an easy cover and not a particularly annoying opponent. If he were on my team, I’d be frustrated with him. He reminds me of Wiggins during his time in Minny. The Pels may fundamentally be broken, but they’ll still try to compete with Zion. They might prefer a stretch five like Reath. However, if they can get RWIII in return for an BI trade, they should pull the trigger.

・Total

I’ve been thinking about how to get FRP for Ant. Are there any teams that would want him? That’s the question. I’m well aware of his strengths and weaknesses. I believe that if we can get even one FRP, it would be a success.
