Here we have my preferred Blazer off-season plan.
Trade Simons: Anfernee Simons is a Blazer favorite, but for the development of Scoot and Sharpe, and he has high value right now, you need to move on begrudgingly. Magic can offer the most realistic package, they have the need for a guard you can score, create, play off the ball, and Simons is from Orlando, so it is a nice homecoming for him. Magic give up Black and two protected FRPs to land him.
Orlando Receives: Anfernee Simons Blazers Receives: Anthony Black, 2025 Den Top 5 Protected FRP, 2026 Orl Top 5 Protected FRP.
Trade Brogdon: Malcolm was maybe worth a FRP last year, but now, he has lost value. Houston prioritizes veterans still and they are in need of a back up PG. Brogdon was 6th man over the year under Ime in Boston. This is a natural fit. Blazers get Jock who is on a team friendly contract and can be moved this year if needed. Instead of Portland getting a future first, they move up 4 spots to get the guy they want (Clingan or Risacher)
Houston Receives: Malcolm Brogdon, #7 Pick Portland Receives: Jock Londale, #3 Pick
Trade Grant: It is no secret that Detroit wants Jerami Grant back and he is a good fit for them trying to win this year. In return Portland gets one future FRP. Detroit Receives: Jerami Grant Portland Receives: 2027 Unprotected FRP
Trade Timelord: OKC is in desperate needs of size and Rob Williams is a perfect fit to either be the backup center to Chet or can even play next to him if needed. He is also a good fit as he will not need to play more than 20-25 minutes a game. OKC in return can shed only one protected pick to get this done.
Thunder Receive: Rob Williams Portland Receives: 2026 Philly Top 6 protected FRP
Keep Ayton & Thybulle: I believe right now their value will be worth much more next offseason when they are in the final year of their contract. Also, with the depletion of vets, Ayton should have a great year stat wise which should allure some suitors.
Draft: With the third pick, the Blazers will take whoever is available between Clingan and Risacher. With the 14th pick, they should take Tidjane Salaun.
Free Agency: With these moves, the Blazers are going to have a lot of money to spend in FA, and it is not a great FA class. So, the Blazers will be targeting young UFAs with a chance to either keep them on the roster or flip them later for draft compensation. Isaac Okoro: 4 years, 15.6 AVA Malik Monk: 4 years, 21 AVA Patrick Williams: 4 years, 22 AVA
Blazers Starting Lineup PG: Scoot SG: Sharpe SF: Okoro PF: Pat Williams C: Ayton Bench: Black, Monk, Murray, Toumani, Jock, Thybulle, Duop,
