After watching Mobley drill 3 3s over Wemby, I’m more convinced this deal is perfect for both the Cavs and Nets.
Garland deserves his own team.
Nets are going nowhere as constructed, but can’t tank bc HOU has their picks for multiple years.
Garland is 3 years younger, has been an all star, and has more upside than Mikal.
Mikal is an elite secondary option, so he probably has slightly more trade value than Garland.
Adding Strus evens out the trade value and also balances the trade position wise.
Cavs are better with Okoro starting and locking up #1 options.
Trade is very similar to Haliburton-Sabonis and IQ-RJ-OG Anunoby deals… just makes sense for both sides.

Mitchell Bridges Okoro Mobley Allen - that’s a #1 defense and an offense that makes sense to maximize Spida.
Dinwiddie LeVert Merrill Wade Niang - all types of juice, love Dinwiddie LeVert as playmaking combo a la 2018 Nets.
Nets
Garland Strus Johnson Finney-Smith Claxton - that’s a balanced team with a clear offensive hierarchy… no worse than they are with Bridges.
Thomas Walker O’Neal Simmons - Garland is a huge upgrade over Cam Thomas who seems destined to either be a 6th man or a big points bad team empty gunner guy.
