Why New York Does This:
After acquiring KAT, they lost quite a bit of key depth. One of those depth pieces being Divincenzo, a really key depth piece.
They get a guy in Trey Lyles who can shift to the 5 if need be, and also get Corey Kispert, someone who could be a huge pickup for them.
They have expressed interest in moving Mitch Rob, in this trade they do that.
Why Sacramento Does This:
Sacramento have built quite a nice team in the offseason, however they dont have great defenders, especially from the center, and often in late game situations, Sabonis can be targeted.
Getting a really solid backup who can play with Sabonis in some big lineups will help them push for a deep playoff run
They also essentially only give up 2 seconds and Colby Jones
Why Washington Does This:
Washington in moving Kispert could share a simalar mindset that they did for trading Deni. Kispert is in a contract year, the Wizards are no where near competing so Kispert who is 25, and could offer his skill sets now, does that for a contender
They also save money in this trade as well. If they chose to sign Kispert at the end of this year, by the time the Wizards are ready for contention, he'll be around 29 entering another contract year.
They get a nice 2 seconds here as well. Along with Colby Jones who may still have some potential
