This is a scenario where D-mitch would be signing with the cavs, instead of the cavs trading him to focus on Garland.

Why the Magic do this- Magic need shooting and a point guard. While Garland did not have a great playoffs, he was dealing with injuries, inconsistent playing time, and having to work out sharing the ball with another ball dominant guard. Garland is only 24 and provides the shooting and playmaking the magic need, while still fitting their timeline.

Why the Cavs to this- Cavs need to convince D-mitch to stay. This trade give them a great 2nd-3rd option SF, while also getting back a decent PG to make up for the loss of Garland.

Why the Nets do this- Nets need to blow it up and trade bridges before his stock goes down or before he gets injured. No reason to keep him. They get picks and 2 young prospects to flip or try and develop.
