Why Memphis Does This:

Jakob is HOOPING. He is genuinly one of the best bigs in the NBA, he's hyper efficient, with his trademark push shot being cash every time. He's a fantastic rebounder, can defender, and can playmake really well from the post as well.

Memphis would love a guy like this, and I know they like Edey, but Jakob has 2 more years on his contract, they can see what they get out of Edey in that time, but in that span, Jakob can show out, and make them genuine playoff contenders

Why Toronto Does This:

Toronto has this guy with incredible value, but they just suck. They are in a rebuild, and for good reason. Jakob is one of the guys on this team that they should sell for rebuilding assets and here they do just that

They get another first this year, along with a swap down the line. They also get a big shooter, that can playmake, something i'm sure they would like to see what they can get out of him in his contract year.
