This trade has received a lot of controversy mostly around trade value and people upset over what they received for a player like Caruso. Also worth mentioning is the experimental back court of Giddey and White and if they'll be able to work together. I have put together a trade including the swap with additional assets that I think would be acceptable to both sides.

Thunder Trade Explanation

The Thunder receive Caruso who can fit into the SG position and have a big impact on winning. With the addition of Andre Drummond, they can fix their problem regarding rebounds and gain inside presence. The Thunder tend to give up offensive rebounds which is a struggle they've had to endure throughout the season. I believe Chet has to bulk up to prevent himself from getting pushed around quite often. With Drummond, the Thunder can experiment and see if Chet can play at the 4. If not, he will have a mentor that can help him develop his rebounding. Statwise, Drummond averages 9 boards a game and Chet averages 8. As a stater, Andre Drummond averages 17.9 rebounds across 10 games and a per 36 of 18.9.

Bulls Trade Explanation

The Bulls gain 3 prospects along with 2 unprotected first round picks in this trade. After a great season, Coby White is given the green light to be the main scorer of the team at SG while Josh Giddey is given the role of playmaker at his natural position PG in hopes of redemption. With the new additions of Ousmane Dieng and Isaiah Joe, the Bulls get younger and gain an opportunity to fully rebuild and ship away their older players to establish a young core. With a new environment, these two players will no longer be fighting for rotation and be given a chance to prove themselves. First, let's talk about Ousmane Dieng. Dieng entered the NBA as a raw talent. Making his way to his 3rd season, it's still too early to judge him negatively based on performance. He has shown flashes of great upside that could come in a few years time. He has good perimeter defense, he's a smooth player with the ball, he has nice vision and instincts for his playmaking, a good handle and a solid shooting form at his height. Ousmane Dieng had a late growth spurt in his life which made him play as a guard prior to this. This is how he developed his handles and playmaking. Currently, his build is 6'10 with a wingspan of 7 foot . He has an aggressive playstyle complimented with his guard skillset. His potential was shown during his time in the G League where he averaged 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists. With a larger role, I truly believe he would be able to somewhat repeat what he has done at a higher level which would possibly result in a slight reduction of those stats. Moving onto Isaiah Joe. A hustle player who can shoot, defend and space the floor for others which is a huge benefit to a team as it allows opportunities for others to score. He has great movement and is reliable on the court. He's still at a young age at 24 with room to grow and statwise he averages 8.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Not the greatest but what stands out is his percentages which are 45.8 fg and 41.6 in 3pt shooting, ranked 18th in the same range as Eric Gordon, KD and Dame. Overall I think these players could become greater with a new opportunity on the Bulls.

Flaws of this trade

The picks I have selected may not be beneficial as I myself have chosen them. I just think unprotected provides more value and I'm just beginning to make trades. I'm not great when it comes to this, so if you have any suggestions or advice please put them down in the comments.

I'm not great with contracts either. Still learning about cap space, tax, aprons, etc so bear with me. I'm also unsure on the players individual value, I just went with the recommendation for Drummond's contract.

Note

Personally, I like the swap I just think the Bulls could of at least negotiated for another asset or pick alongside Giddey. I feel like Coby White can transition into a shooting guard and Giddey would be able to perform as the main playmaker if he is moved to point guard. And even if the back court duo doesn't work out, that will help them tank and possibly aim for a top pick in hopes of getting a cornerstone piece like Cooper Flagg.

Please leave constructive feedback down below, I would like to see what I could improve on.
