The Pistons receive Lu Dort, the #6 pick (Giddey, great fit with Hayes), the 16th Pick (Sengun), the 18th pick (Mann), the 36th Pick (Miles McBride), and 2 future FRPs.

The Thunder receive the rights to the #1, #42, and #52 picks plus Josh Jackson.

What matters here is the 2 future FRPs Detroit receives. The trade had to get the team a star, and Giddey could qualify if stretching, but that won’t work.

The 2022 pick they receive is their own, which, in this alternate universe, would most likely be a Top 3 pick, and allow them to get one of these two franchise cornerstones in Chet Holmgren or Paolo Banchero.

Victor Wembamyama is the standout 2023 prospect/star from France they’ll get with OKC’s 2023 FRP (Projected Top 2).

So, the Pistons gain two young stars through future drafts.
