1st trade: Lakers send Russ, their 27th(top 8 prot.) and 29th 1sts, with a 2026 swap option to TOR for FVV and GTJ.
Why TOR do it - Dont have to retain 2 guys for 20-25mil and go over the tax when their team isn't good enough to contend. Also get valuable picks and Lonnie Walker and if you like him after the season you can re-sign.
Why LAL do it - Turn expiring contracts into pieces that fit AD and Bron while also having the option to bring them back for several years.
2nd trade: Lakers send Bev and a 2nd to SAS for Josh.
Why SAS do it - Reportedly Josh is only worth a 2nd or two and with Bev's numbers getting back to how they were last year's this comes out pretty fair.
Why LAL do it - Turn an expiring contract into a solid 3 and D guard that you can re-sign with bird rights.
3rd trade: Lakers send TB and a 2nd to Minny for Naz.
Why Minny do it - They want to trade Naz because he is a RFA and they don't want to pay him. They also are trying to push a playoff run so TB would be the perfect expiring contract replacement for them providing offensive power off the bench.
Why LAL do it - Turn an expiring contract into a C that fits better long term and that has better defense.
Conclusion: Rob has no excuse, the way AD and Bron are playing it would be a crime not to surround them with actual good pieces. And Lakers have to stop having a whole new lineup every year, that's why in all these trades I've made we get back players that Lakers can resign using bird rights. And with the acquisition of Rui and the talks of extending Reaves this is the best route to go. While still having a mid level contract in the off season to use on a FA.
A roster of - FVV, GTJ, LBJ, RUI, AD AR/DS, JR/MAX, TBJ, WG, NAZ is a huge leap into the right direction
