All sides get something they are looking for.
Mavericks get some much needed length & athleticism with POA defender skills that Luka, Tatum and other elite players are familiar with. Can be slotted as a future third or fourth scorer and allowed to have much less pressure than in GS. The Mavericks can simplify things for him. Mavericks get an All star level reclamation project that fits some major needs while also giving us a 2nd back from past trade and not having to give up THJ, Hardy or O-Max.
Warriors get their much desired goal of taking out long term money from their books. 2 of the 3 contracts are expiring and Holmes expires next year. Also given them veterans for this season that fit some needs, POA defense (Wright) and then Holmes and Morris as additional bodies down low with experience.
Wizards get to trade out an expiring contract that isn’t likely to return + a 2nd for Josh Green, an upside player that fits their timeline.
