BUT! If they did decide to prey on the 76ers situation, this hypothetical roster would be WAY better than their current roster.

76ers: love harden and would pay a premium for him AND they get away from Simmons. I personally don’t like this but its obvious they would pull the trigger if this offer came up.

Nets: Kyrie + Simmons is a huge mental health gamble. But with Matisse and Simmons, Kyrie and KD can all but take vacations on D. Alternatively, Matisse and Simmons have very little offensive pressure next to KD/Kyrie. Flipping Harris and Maxey + FRP for Turner and Holliday still provides some floor spacing but now makes the Nets defense elite.

*Harden can leave for nothing after this year soooo either way you’re gambling. Might as well hedge.

Pacers: Trading an all-star big man doesn’t net you much these days, and Turner is no all-star. This offer is pretty generous considering what the Magic got for their all-star big last year. No idea if they want to rebuild or just reset, but if it’s rebuild you get a solid young player & a FRP. If reset, then you get that plus an elite shooter (when Harris is healthy) to either play of flip.
