Lets face it, the KAT/Gobert experiment is not going to work. The Wolves have slowly been building a team around Anthony Edwards anyways, so it is probably time for them to move on from KAT.

KNICKS - New York add a superstar in KAT while not messing up any of their core. They also maintain enough draft capital flexibility for other future moves.

WOLVES - Minnesota recoups draft capital lost from the Gobert trade. They add players who will be on expiring contracts to maintain cap flexibility for extensions on Edwards and McDaniels. They also benefit here by sending KAT out of the conference.

SPURS - San Antonio gets a potentially high second round pick here to take on Fournier's contract, but they may need additional compensation. It was also considered to throw in Obi Toppin as a young piece instead of Jericho Sims, but then this trade would need to happen after they pick up his team option.
