++Atlanta:++ Even if Atl draft Sarr, there’s no guarantee they’re going to be good over the coming years. Plus, they’ve got Oneyka, who could make them think twice about drafting Sarr.
This trade gives Atl back everything, a chance to completely reset and have their assets available should they choose to make a move again. They also get back pick 4, meaning they’ll still draft a top prospect this year. They can go all in on their current young guys, and even if that doesn’t go well, they’d still have their picks. Finally, in Trae Young did request a trade, it means that Atl can anticipate being bad and still have their picks.
++Spurs++ French twin towers. Wemby at the 4 and Sarr at the 5 could be the give players attacking the paint nightmares. Additionally, Dejounte is back and he can run the offence from point guard. If the spurs could sign a solid 3&d wing to complete their starting lineup, they’d look incredibly dangerous. Plus, the spurs don’t need too many more young places (expect Sarr who could be elite), therefore giving away future picks which they got off the original trade with Atl doesn’t worry me.
