Blockbuster 3 team trade: Knicks get Wiggins, Warriors get Johnson and Grimes, Spurs get IQ

SUCCESS

This is a tweak on a previous trade which I think makes it slightly more likely for all involved to go through with the trade.

Knicks: The Knicks need an elite wing defender who can guard the Lillards and Tatums of the East: Andrew Wiggins. He's having a bad season which is why the Warriors don't get as much draft compensation but the Knicks will hope that he can recover his offense in a new environment. Regardless, he's still a 3 and D All-Star and one that adds some size and defense to a Knicks starting lineup that needs it. Losing IQ and Grimes is tough, but both are taking secondary roles and IQ didn't get an extension this offseason and looks likely to leave at the end of this season. Wiggins is still 28 and has shown that he can be a championship level player, if not the game changing star that many Knicks fans may be expecting. The Knicks will still have enough picks to make another move in the upcoming offseason to add that level of star to the team. The Knicks also pick up Wenyen Gabriel who can back up Randle and fill in as a backup center while Mitch is out. He's not an exciting player but he was more than solid in the last few seasons for the Lakers and is dependable enough to fill those minutes which they desperately need right now as the Knicks don't have much frontcourt depth.

Warriors: Despite some recent wins, the Warriors don't look like a contender, or even a team that wins in the second round. However their payroll is incredibly high and they want to squeeze out a few more years of dominance because they have a true superstar in Steph Curry. They get 2 win now players in Keldon Johnson and Grimes who can help add firepower to an offense that desperately needs someone other than Curry to score. They get some draft picks as well to help add talent or use in another trade (they might need to ship out Draymond). Grimes is a young 3 and D wing who is getting more confident and under Kerr would flourish on offense is already approaching elite status on defense. Johnson has been a solid wing and is capable of scoring 20 points consistently and is a solid defender as well. Both would help add to this struggling Warriors team and with Curry, they might just do the impossible.

Spurs: The Spurs badly need a PG to lead their team. The point-Sochan experiment did not work and proved that he's better off as a wing. They are reportedly willing to move on from Johnson and they get some first round picks in exchange. Also, unlike my previous trade, they don't give up any other young players who they might want to develop. IQ is a starter quality PG who would thrive on a team with Vassell and Wembanyama and would set them up for a great future. He can continue to grow and receive the playing time he deserves while this team gets even better.

Thoughts?

Edit: for some reason the free agent signing of Wenyen Gabriel was removed but should be on there and it still fits financially.
