Financially, the combination of THJ, Green, Prosper, and Powell this summer totals $35,717,904, which meets the threshold to acquire Trae Young’s 2024-25 salary of $43,031,940.

Assuming the Mavs 2024 draft pick is conveyed to New York, they will have the opportunity to trade the 2025 draft pick. Not shown here - they would likely send out the 2031 draft pick too.

From a basketball standpoint, the Mavs offense would be insane. The WCF run in 2022 with Luka, Brunson, and Dinwiddie as the primary options worked best Kidd’s offense. If those three guys are Luka, Kyrie, and Trae Young instead, I am not sure how that can be stopped.

For Atlanta, this package probably isn’t enough. Maybe adding Jaden Hardy and a swap in 2026 are enticing. But for Dallas, this is the type of final swing they need to take to make the next jump into contention.
