WHY MAVS DO IT:
We pretty much do what Cavs did in the Harden trade: take an opportunity. Since Pacers don't need Kuzma, we give them #26, another second and Maxi who played his best with Rick.
WHY LAKERS DO IT:
KCP, Hield, TJ and getting rid of Westbrook for 3 stupid seconds, THT and Reaves is too good to say no to. Bertans' contract is the "tax" to pay.
WHY WIZARDS DO IT:
Form an amazing starting 5: Brogdon, Beal, Avdija, KP, Turner. The price isn't even THAT high compared to the value those 2 guys had a couple of years ago. Reaves is a decent backup too.
WHY INDIANA DO IT:
1) Both Brogdon and Turner struggled with injuries lately, they better trade them asap.
2) Despite Westbrook, they still have a max slot if they want to offer it to Ayton/Bridges.
3) They dump Hield and TJ and next year they free up A LOT of money.
4) Pick number 10 and 26, to add to their 6/7, Cavs 15ish and 31. 2 more seconds in the next 2 drafts
5) THT is a decent rotation player, Hachimura a starter. Maxi would make Rick happy and could make him a tasty trade chip at the deadline.
At 6 or 7 they are sure to get Jalen Duren. If they can get Bridges for the max, this would be their new team:
Starting 5: Westbrook, Haliburton, Bridges, Hachimura, Duren
Second Unit: Pick 10 (TyTy), THT, Duarte, Maxi, Jackson
Third Unit: Pick 15-17 (Agbaji), Pick 26 (Keels), Brissett, Pick 31, Carey
Imagine this team in their second year with 47 millions off the books.
