Do you do any at all. Is it during the game? After the game? Curious to see some answers.

I watch games in layers. First, I watch the game without focusing on any one player. It lets me get a feel for impact a little better than when I'm focused on just one player. No notes taken this time around. Then I watch a second time with the notebook. I write down every play that the scouted player is involved in whether they record a stat in the box score or not. I timestamp every note about every player so when I'm trying to recall certain examples of players strengths and weaknesses I can go right to the play I want. It is very tedious and takes me at least 2-3 hours to scout one game for any certain player. (I only watch the minutes the player is on the court the second time around) After that I look at box scores to see if the statistical impact (or lack of) matches the visual impact I saw during the game. I try to do this for at least 2 games for each prospect. After that is done, I will go to a players game log and pick their best and worst game to scout. If I already scouted one or both of those games then I just find their next best/worst game. I do not take in depth notes when watching these games, I only take notes of new skills or weaknesses not seen in prior games. These games are used to either confirm what I saw or challenge my evaluation of the player. (p.s. the 2024 big board I have posted now is more of "on the fly, not fully scouted yet" big board as I only have full reports for half of the top 15 so far.)
