Why Nuggets do this: The Nuggets need 3 things- Depth Pieces, Clear Cap Space for future moves, draft picks to replenish in the future. This move gives the Nuggets 3 true depth pieces to work with and 3 additional 2nd round picks while clearing cap space for the future by moving MPJ.

Why the Pistons do this: MPJ might be the perfect pairing player with Cade and Ausar. I’m still viewing these two as the cornerstones of this franchise. MPJ needs a solid defensive wing/forward to make up for his lack in that department and Ausar does just that. Ausar needs a sharpshooter next to him to make up for his non shooting abilities. Cade could also use a forward who can actually shoot and this moves Tobias to the bench. Detroit should still look to offload Duren and man a defensive center at the deadline or in the offseason like Myles Turner or Naz Reid and could flip Duren and Tobias for picks.
